WHAT TO EXPECT:
Vendors, food, entertainment, beer garden, community organizations, unique pirate games, activities, demonstrations and surprises. This is a participatory festival, we want you DOING things! There are free activities and participation events. Expect to have a LOT of FUN!
GAMES:
This festival is a participatory event! You know..." Don't just watch the pirates...BE a pirate!" The games area are based on skills and activities the pirates do. There are games here you won't find ANYWHERE else.
Have you ever thrown a axe? Used a Belaying Pin for target practice? Try your skill on the Rigger's Sling? Race a small pirate ship? You can ....ONLY at Pirate Fest!
ACTIVITIES: Free treasure map:
We have some great activities planned where you get to DO things! Each kid gets a Treasure Map when they enter Pirate Fest. They will traverse the park accomplishing about 10-12 activities. How about learning to sword fight like a pirate? Walk a plank? Hoist a sail? Actually make a piece of rope? Accomplish the tasks you will get your "booty" and become an honorary Pirate with a Letter of Marque!

Check the Entertainer's Schedule for times.
WHAT TO BRING:
BRING: Dress in your Pirate, steampunk, faerie or Rennie attire! Don't just watch the pirates BE the Pirate!
BRING: Cash! There will be ATM's available (but of course there is a fee) There are food vendors, unique merchandise vendors ....and of course the beer and RUM!
BRING: Chairs (quick folding type) or blankets for seating. Areas near stages have ground seating. You are welcome to bring a chair or blanket for a little extra comfort. There will be ATM machines but we recommend you bring cash.
WHAT NOT TO BRING
Do NOT BRING: No outside alcohol, food or drink. You may bring a sealed water bottle with you (one per person) everything else will be available at the festival.
Do NOT BRING: No pets! Even though this is a park, please leave Fido home, he may like you, but might not get along with Tiny or his family! (service animals are exempt)
WEAPONS: All weapons that are part of your costume must be peace tied! Steampunk weapons must only be non-firing.
ANNUAL EVENT:
Pirate Fest is an annual festival. It has a Legend and a storyline. The pirates are cursed and "stuck in the desert". You are here to help and witness their attempts to break the curse and return to the sea. If they are unsuccessful (they haven't been able to do it yet!) then you can make plans for next year. Come back next year and you can see what the pirates, steampunk and faerie characters have been doing in your absence. Maybe they'll be lucky this year...with your help!

Pirate Fest is a Public Photo Area. We may have official Pirate Fest photographers/videographers, local and/or national media photographers/videographers on site. If you do not wish to be photographed do not enter any area where cameras are present. The following sign is posted at the Pirate Fest Entrance:
